This week we have been exploring corn!
And for our snack we "painted" Soybutter onto our
"big crackers"
and they all gave a two thumbs up for this snack!
We have learned all about corn and the different types of corn!
And how corn grows (stretch high like the corn grows!)
We felt how deer corn feels harder than corn on the cob
or cooked corn
This is how corn grows!
When corn is in the husk it feels sticky and wet the kiddos said
"It smells like corn on the cob!"
"corn feels hard and bumpy"
Then we watched a youtube video clip of how the farmers grow and harvest the corn
Popcorn is made of corn!
Each child has their own individual bin for sensory play.
Today we were able to feel how the corn felt!
(most of them said it felt soft and fun :))
Now we are digging for letters!
Next, we cooked each child their own corn on the cob to taste!
(not the ones we touched :))
They all loved it!!
Now we are using the husks to paint with!
Such a great sensory project and also shucking the corn is great for their fine motor skills!
Happy Thursday!
