We are learning so much!

Here are a few pictures from this week!

Miss Alicia is working with the friends on creating their own "fall" trees. They turned out super cute!

The goal of this small group activity is to figure out different ways to make 5 using small objects.  "You can use 2 poker chips, 2 dinosaurs and one block" etc.

Miss Nancy is doing the "Nursery Rhyme Count" activity.  She sang "Mary Had A Little Lamb" multiple times and  changed the number of lambs in the song each time. It's  was up to the kiddos to put that many lambs in their field.  :)

 At this table the friends were using playdough to create different kinds of bugs or animals that live in trees :) 

Different trees in our neighborhood :)

We learned that we have many different kinds of trees in our neighborhood.

The kiddos collected items from the trees on our walk.

The bark on this tree was peeling.....pretty cool to see!

We also learned that bushes are not as trees.  :)

We're going on a tree hunt!

On Tuesday we went to Central Park to look at the trees   :)

Miss Alicia was showing the kids some moss growing on the tree bark.    :)

Hayden saw a little black squirrel in the tree!

We also had fun exploring our tree parts.   This table was comparing different sized pine cones, leaves, acorns, and bark.

This table was using yarn to measure the length, width, or circumference of different tree parts. (Circumference was tricky to say)    :)

1st small groups

In this small group the kiddos we exploring magnet letters.

I helped Henry find the letters for his name.    :)

This table was filled with foam letters and numbers to play with.

Henry spelled his name with these too!

 This table was working on creating patterns with bears!  The kids did great!!

In this activity the kids were building letters with playdough.
